Day-by-Day Itinerary

DAY 1: Arrival in Kigali – City Tour – Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (Uganda)

Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or pickup from your hotel in Kigali, you will be welcomed by your professional safari guide. If time permits, enjoy a brief Kigali city tour, including visits to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, local craft markets, and panoramic viewpoints overlooking the city.
After lunch, depart Kigali and drive north towards the Cyanika or Katuna border, completing immigration formalities before entering Uganda. Continue through the beautiful terraced hills of southwestern Uganda to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to nearly half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.
Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon, check in, relax, and enjoy dinner while listening to the sounds of the rainforest.

DAY 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to the Uganda Wildlife Authority park headquarters for registration and a comprehensive briefing by experienced ranger guides.
You will then begin your once-in-a-lifetime gorilla trekking adventure through Bwindi’s ancient rainforest. Trekking may take between 2 and 8 hours depending on the location of the assigned gorilla family. Once located, you will spend one unforgettable hour observing these gentle giants as they feed, play, groom, and interact in their natural habitat.
After the trek, receive your official Gorilla Trekking Certificate before returning to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
In the afternoon, enjoy an optional Batwa cultural experience or simply unwind at the lodge while taking in the spectacular forest views.

DAY 3: Return to Kigali – Departure

Enjoy breakfast before checking out and beginning the scenic drive back to Kigali through the rolling hills of Uganda and Rwanda.
After crossing the border, continue to Kigali for lunch (optional depending on flight schedule) before being transferred to Kigali International Airport or your hotel, marking the end of your memorable gorilla safari.
